You've probably noticed advertisements everywhere: online, on television, on billboards, and on the radio. Their job is to entice you to buy a certain product or service by making it seem more desirable than it really is. There are many different formats of ads, including print, digital, and audio. The goal is to get your attention. Let's look at some of the most common types of ads and why they are so effective.

Media department: The media department is in charge of placing ads in order to reach a target audience for the lowest price. Media planners analyze consumer habits and determine how to best target those customers. The media buyers track available space and negotiate pricing and scheduling. Production department: The production department oversees the production of ads. They know how to make them as attractive as possible and how to create a compelling ad. These professionals work together to create compelling ad copy and optimize their placement.

Demand-side platform: The demand-side platform connects publishers and ad networks to purchase ad inventory. The publishers upload their ad placement inventory to the SSP. The SSP sends those impressions to ad exchanges and analyzes them to determine the most cost-effective ad placement. Once the advertisement is chosen, it's published on the publisher's site. It is displayed in the ad exchanges and the advertisers receive the revenue.
